Obituary of Jean Annette Arnold
ARNOLD, Jean Annette (nee Dunbar), 85, of Young’s Point Ontario, rose on the wings of a dove into the loving arms of her Lord and Saviour on October 19th, 2024, with her children by her side. Born July 5, 1939, in Potsdam New York to Leroy and Alice (Morgan) Dunbar of Massena New York, both deceased.
She was a beloved mother, deeply adored grandmother and great-grandmother (GiGi), and a loving faithful wife. Predeceased by her husband of six years, Orvis Barcroft (married November 24th, 2012) and her husband of 47 years, Ronald C. Arnold.
Survived by her 3 children - daughters Ruth (Arnold) Rahill and her husband Chaplain Roger W. Rahill (USA, retired) of Colorado Springs, Colorado; and Janice (Arnold) Smith and her husband Blaise Bozzelli of Maywood, NJ; and son John and his wife Jocelyne (LaPointe) Arnold of Collingwood, Ontario.
Grandchildren Paul Smith and his wife Brianne (Fairfield, NJ); Matthew Smith and his wife Sarah (Orlando, FL); Lydia (Rahill) Santos and her husband Neftali Santos, Jr. (Leander, TX); Naomi (Rahill) and her husband Kiel Harmon (Chandler, AZ); Kyle Arnold and his wife Patty (Armstrong Station, ON); Lyndsay (Arnold) Thompson and her husband Nick (Eugenia, ON). Great-grandchildren Samantha and Bryan Smith; Olivia and Eleanor Smith; Isaiah and Eli Santos; Liam and Sloane Harmon; Violet Pearl Arnold; and Colter Noah Thompson.
Founder, along with her husband Ron, of Arnelle Acres/Elim Lodge on Pigeon Lake, ON. Jean then fulfilled her life-long dream of becoming a nurse and graduated from Sir Sanford Fleming’s School of Nursing at the age of 41, serving at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Peterborough. Jean was a dedicated Christian who was passionate about her faith. Her legacy of love will live on in the hearts and minds of everyone she interacted with.
Arrangements have been entrusted to THE HENDREN FUNERAL HOME – LAKEFIELD CHAPEL. Please join us for a visitation on Thursday October 24th at Hendren Funeral Home – Lakefield Chapel (66 Queen Street, Lakefield) from 6:00 PM till 8:00 PM. A second visitation will take place on Friday, October 25th from 11:00 AM until 12:00 PM at the Funeral Home, with a service to begin directly after at 12:00 PM. Interment is to follow at East Oakwood Cemetery.
