LUTES: Verna May (nee Woodcock)

Passed away suddenly and peacefully at Campbellford Memorial Hospital on Saturday November 13, 2021. Verna Lutes of Norwood in her 90^th year.  Verna was the proud owner/operator of Spruce Haven Nursing Home in Norwood, founder of Maple View Retirement Residence and a long-time member of Norwood Pentecostal Church.  She is sadly missed by her children Gord Munro (Roxanne Maynes) of Havelock, Sheri Munro of Norwood, Jacqui Mack (Wayne) of Campbellford, Kimberly Lutes (Adrian King) of Norwood and Muriel Lutes of Michigan.  She is lovingly remembered by her special friend Myrle McRae and by her grandchildren Jeff (Tracy), Jay (Melissa), Chad (Melanie), Brandy (Curtis), Jessica (Wilmer), great grandchildren Hayden, Dawson, Chase, Baily, Austin, Charly, Ava, and many special nieces and nephews.  Survived by her brothers Garnet Woodcock (Gail) and Kenny Woodcock (Heather).  Predeceased by her parents Russell and Etta, her husband John Lutes (2007), sister Helen Robinson (Alton) and brothers Donald (Gladys) and Ivan (Frances).  Friends and relatives may call at THE HENDREN FUNERAL HOMES, NORWOOD CHAPEL, 36 Queen Street, Norwood on Friday November 19, 2021 from 7:00 – 9:00 PM.  Due to Covid-19 restrictions, we ask that you register to attend the visitation by visiting www.hendrenfuneralhome.comor calling the funeral home.  A private family funeral service will be held at Norwood Pentecostal Church on Saturday at 11:00 AM.  You are invited to watch the funeral service beginning at 5:00 PM at www.hendrenfuneralhome.com and clicking on the link available on the memorial page for Verna.  Memorial donations may be made to the Norwood Pentecostal Church as expressions of sympathy and may be made by contacting the funeral home at www.hendrenfuneralhome.com or by calling 705-639-5322.
