Nigel, Adrian, Steven & Katie,
So very, very sorry to hear of your Dad’s passing. A wonderful man!
Our fond recollections of the Mackey family will remain with us forever.
Your Dad & Mum made Sandra & I so very welcome in their Island Road home in Scarborough following our arrival from the UK in 1974. The camping trips, Southern Ontario tours and weekend overnight stays in their home were wonderful experiences that are forever etched into our memories.
Your Dad, who was my Mum’s Cousin, also helped us acquire our 1st Canadian car. We will never forget that ‘HUGE’ gold and black coloured, second-hand, Plymouth Fury (with hood racing stripe & straight-thru’ muffler) that your Dad spotted on one of the Kingston Road, car dealers forecourt.
We also fondly remember the weekend visit to view the photo slides from your year-long stay on the Hawaiian Islands. Very exotic scenes for us - a young couple from Leicestershire with very little travel experience.
We will never forget you John.
Wonderful memories - R.I.P.
John & Sandra Buttell.
