Obituary of Shirley Margaret Ivey

IVEY, Shirley Margaret (nee. Strode)
It is with the heaviest of hearts, that those whom loved her most announce the passing of Shirley Ivey, on Saturday June 22, 2019. She fought a valiant effort against a rare caner until the end. Shirley (Strode) married Clifford Ivey more than 50 years ago and they resided in Norwood, Ontario. Cliff predeceased her (d. 2013) and she moved into Peterborough to be near her sister Dorothy Balson, whom she was always close to. Dorothy unselfishly cared for Shirley throughout her illness. Shirley also leaves a huge family of nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews who will miss her terribly. Shirley is survived by her oldest brother Al Strode and sadly predeceased by her youngest brother Bill Strode. After the loss of her husband she lived quietly on nine acres tending to the property, growing a large vegetable garden and caring for a large number of woodland creatures, which brought her much joy.
