I always remember as a kid getting loaded up to go visit aunt Shirley. Whether were were skating or fishing on the pond these are memories I will never forget. Who could forget the bargain barn... it was a little ways up to your road but most everytime we came for a visit it included a trip to the bargain barn. I also fondly remember on a few occasions when you and Grandma were hanging out with me, we would get Jeff purveys fish and chips. We all started see a lot more of you after you moved into town and lived on fifes bay where you tended to the gardens and made sure the chipmunks were fed. It was great to have you in town because you were able to attend all the birthdays and family gatherings. I wish the last part of your life was a bit easier than it was but You were strong and pushed through. We all love you very much and you will be missed by eveyone in the entire family Shirley.

You will be greatly missed Aunt Shirley. I know I got to see you most as an adult but my favourite memories of you are from when I was a child and we got to drive out to Norwood and see everyone I’m the big garage. Even remember Grandma buttons being there once. You always did make a mean toasted tomato sandwiches and ever since you moved into town you didn’t help my waist line with those cookies you’d bring over. I’ll miss seeing you when I go to my parents, I won’t miss the heart attacks you gave me when I drove in the lane way and almost hit you with my truck, multiple times. I think the boys have feeding the chipmunks covered for you and my parents will just have to go without fresh veggies from the garden this year.
Look after my Abby until I get there.
Love always
Jennesse

You were always a big part of my life whether it be trips to the cottage with grandma and opa, or swimming in the pond out back of your place in Norwood. You were truly a selfless person always putting others needs before your own.
You will be missed by everyone in our family including the birds and chippies.
Love you Aunt Shirl

Aunt Shirley
The patience you had to teach me Yahtzee was just talked about with Oscar a year ago. The laugh when I made the big holes in my crochet lines are unforgettable. The love for animals, the budgie birds, the geese at your pond in Norwood, the weekly Sunday visits to the nursing home. Teaching me how to stay quiet at the cottage with Grandma to feed chipmunks off the deck. The trips to the bargain barn. The walks we took from staying with you over the March Break. The look in your eyes when you showed me how to melt chocolate without burning it, the love for babies and just always being there without the need to be the center of attention.
So many more memories. Thank you.

You were a treasured member of the Strode clan who will be sorely missed by us all. You did so many acts of kindness behind the scenes with no accolades such paying for family celebrations...knitting for the underpriveleged. I believe you kept a lot of people in their jobs by buying the worlds supplies of peanuts bird seed and rabbit pellets keeping the woodland creatures happy and healthy. It is like a scene out of Bambi to drive onto the property - chipmunks everywhere bunnies dotting the lawns and birds of all kinds and colours filling the trees! You were the woodland creature whisperer! And the large vegetable garden you cared always yielded lots or wonderful food. Thank you!!! You will be forever missed by us all. THANK YOU !!! Till we meet again....
