Fred meant a lot to me when I was a child growing up in Apsley. I loved being with him. I have a photo of myself sitting on his lap with a look of pure joy on my face. He was playful, and respectful of children. He would carry me on his shoulders and wade out into the creek behind their home and say,"knee deep, knee deep" as though he were a frog. Then he would throw me over his shoulder into the water for a long time. He would always offer us a pop in a glass with an ice-cube, just like the adults got, when every other home gave me a plastic cup! These things leave an impression on a child. This will be a great loss to all the other children he loved too. I'm sorry for your loss Barbara and family. Ray and Rena Stephen's youngest daughter, Carol Rado
