Obituary of John Whatley

WHATLEY: John M. Passed away peacefully at Riverview Manor, Peterborough, on Saturday February 6, 2010. John M. Whatley of Lakefield in his 92nd year. Beloved husband of 65 years to Elsie May (nee Johnson). Dad will be dearly missed by his children Donald (Natalie) of Mississauga, Joan Priestman (John) of Toronto, Richard (Martha) of Lakefield and Gordon (Sherry) of Halifax. Cherished Grandpa of Jennifer Cartwright (Richard), Alison & Greg Priestman, Ben, Ian, Graeme & Julia Whatley and great grandson Andrew Cartwright. Dear brother of Doreen Hudson (John) of Saskatoon and sister-in-law of Anne Whatley of Kindersley, Sask. John will always be remembered by his many nieces and nephews in Western Canada. Predeceased by his grandson Alex Whatley, his parents Agnes and Samuel Whatley, sister Patricia Ogilvie (Grant) and brothers Lawrence (Winnie), Bob (Kay) and David. A Celebration of John's Life will follow at The Lakefield United Church, Regent St., Lakefield at 1:00 PM. A reception will be held in the Fellowship Hall of the Church.
