Obituary of Mildred Ellen PORTER
PORTER: Mildred Ellen (Henthorne) At the P.R.H.C., Hospital Dr. site on Tuesday January 25th, 2005. Mildred Porter of Peterborough formerly of R.R. #3 Lakefield in her 86th year. Mildred had the good fortune of being born in Toronto and raised in Peterborough by her parents William Wellington Henthorne and Lottie Ellen Taylor. She was a very athletic person that loved sports, swimming and skating. She and Ab truly enjoyed square dancing, travelling and spending time with family, especially their grandchildren. She was married to her beloved friend, Ab on July 25, 1940 and sealed in the Cardston, Alberta Temple on July 27, 1954. Above all Millie was unselfish and compassionate. She shared with everyone she felt was in need. She is survived by her husband Ab, children Gaele Wilkie (Bill), Ron Porter (Louise), Reed Porter (Lesley), Marva Gardner (Steve) and daughter-in-law Gwen. She is predeceased by her son Larry, daughter Karen and grandson Martin Porter. She is also survived by 14 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren. Friends may call at the HENDREN FUNERAL HOME, Lakefield on Friday January 28th, 2005 from 7-9 PM. A funeral service will be held at, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Cumberland Ave., Peterborough, on Saturday January 29th, 2005 at 11:00 AM. Visitation one hour prior to service.
