Obituary of Doug Dixon

DIXON, DOUGLAS MURRAY 

Passed away peacefully at Peterborough Regional Health Centre on November 14, 2024. Doug Dixon of Douro-Dummer, formerly of Toronto, at the age of 83. Doug was an avid card player, enjoying many games of Bridge and Wizard. He also loved a round of golf. Doug’s amazing green thumb allowed him to grow beautiful orchids and African violets which everyone around him admired.

Beloved husband of Isabelle Dixon. Dear father of Marilyn (Stewart) McKay and Jim Dixon. Devoted grandfather of Andrew and Duncan McKay. Doug is dearly missed by his brother Bruce (Judy) Dixon, nephew Kyle (Krista) Dixon, niece Coralie (Mike) Jacobs, nephew Ian (Tereasa) Dixon, niece Melody Dixon, nephew Todd (Corey) Dixon, and great-nieces Abigail and Dani Jacobs and Kaylin and Alayna Dixon. Doug will be remembered fondly by many friends and family members, including nieces, nephews, cousins, and great-nieces and nephews. Predeceased by younger brother Peter and parents Todd and Mildred Dixon. 

Cremation has taken place. A celebration of life is expected to take place in the spring of 2025.
