SCOTT: Reginald “Reg”

 

Passed away peacefully with family by his side, at Peterborough Regional Health Centre, on Saturday September 14, 2024. Reg moved from Toronto to Lakefield, in 1968, then to Youngs Point in 1969, where he worked at the garage his father owned. After he was finished school, Reg was hired to work at the Beer Store in Lakefield, he also worked in the Peterborough Beer store before being transferred to Whitby, where he worked until his retirement in 2007.  Reg was very involved in social activities in the Lakefield community, including the Legion branch 77, where he enjoyed many a card game (mostly euchre), and shooting pool. Reg enjoyed playing golf with his friends and family and watched golf and other sports on TV when his health started to decline.  Loved and dearly missed by his partner Vanessa, brother Jamie, his sons Rick (Gailyn), Ed (Maria) and his daughter Nancy (Scott).   Fondly remembered by his grandchildren Erin, Cara, Dana, Ethan, Jessica, Kolby and Jordyn. Predeceased by his parents Phyllis and Ted Scott.  

Cremation has taken place.  A celebration of life will be held at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 77, 10 Nicholls Street, Lakefield on Saturday September 28th from 1 – 3 PM.  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Canadian Cancer Society or the Heart and Stroke Foundation as expressions of sympathy, and may be made by contacting the funeral home at www.hendrenfuneralhome.com or by calling 705-652-3355.
