Obituary of Shawn Wilson Shea
It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Shawn Wilson Shea on September 9, 2024 in his 61st year. Loving father of Eric, and Sarah and her husband Ben Janke. Devoted Grandpa of Georgia, Seth, Ayla and Levi. Shawn was the dear brother of Kathleen and her husband Bernie Gehmair, Colleen and her husband Rick Geary, Maureen and her husband Steve Lytle, and Eileen and her husband Roger Harrison. Cherished uncle of Colin, Megan (Phil), Niki, Michael, Scota, Rory (Lee), Kelsey (Sheldon) and Nathan. Fondly remembered by Cheryl and her family.
Shawn was predeceased by his parents, Wilson and Irene Shea. Growing up in Bobcaygeon Shawn was the youngest of five, having four older sisters. He could often be seen at the family business "Shea's IGA" in his early years and then working in the family business alongside his sisters until its sale in 2010. Shawn will be fondly remembered by Paul and Jody Taylor (his work wife), cousins, many friends, and extended family at Gordon Yacht Harbour where he worked for the past 14 seasons. Shawn (also known to his friends as Herman & Gilligan) was a kind, caring man with a gentle soul and we will forever treasure our memories of him.
Arrangements have been entrusted to The Hendren Funeral Homes - Monk Chapel. Cremation has taken place with a private family interment. A Celebration of Life will take place on September 21st, 2024 at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 239, 96 King St E, Bobcaygeon, from 1:00 PM – 4:00 PM.
