During the winter of 95/96 while our house was being built Lois and Dave were so generous in allowing us to visit every weekend to their cottage “Maplelot” here in Buckhorn. We enjoyed so many happy and fun weekends with them. One weekend we got to the end of our road only to find it hadn’t been plowed. So we took the groceries and walked all the way to the Howieson’s. It took until the next day for our hands to fully extend again. Oh, the joys of country living! At one point Dave told me he was a frogman during WWII and I believed him—for awhile, and as I was focused on Dave I didn’t see Lois’ eyes roll, according to Derry.
They guided us through some of the challenges of building our own home which forged a lasting friendship until Lois’ passing.
Lois you will be missed. Rest in Peace.
