Andria, I found your message in my junk folder this morning. Susan and I are deeply saddened by her passing. My time at Trent was made so much nicer by her hosting my stays for years. It is a feature of my experience, and one I am always relating to friends.

Ruth was well loved Founding Member of the Kawartha Quiltmakers Guild. She shared her expertise and many of the quilts she made for her family with us during Show and Tell. Ruth was one of the first people to make me feel welcomed at the Guild when I joined. I know that over the years she hosted many of our guest speakers at Hunters Farm B&B. I can not tell you how much she will be missed.

Ruth was one of the most hospitable people we've ever met. I met her when we moved to Warsaw 50 years ago when she was organizing a bus trip to buy fabric in Hamilton. Ever since we've kept in touch and shared stories of our children as they grew into fine adults.
We both used the recipe for making skin cream from beeswax for 45 years!
When she told stories of her experiences she often interrupted herself with a hearty laugh.
Ruth was so proud of her daughters, their husbands and the grandchildren. Her pride and love was shown equally to all of them. She has left a fine example for them.
Ruth will be missed in the community, in her church and in the family.
She is at peace with our Heavenly Father..

To the Entire Hunter Family,
My deepest condolences for the loss of Ruth. She was such a gracious lady. I remember when I coached the girls for House league hockey and we had our End of Year party at the farm. She was such a wonderful hostess and just the fact that she and your dad welcomed us all. Such fun times. I'm so glad I met her. You will miss her but she has left you all very special memories that you will cherish. Hold each other tightly. She will be missed. Thinking of you all at this Very Sad Time.

RIP Ruth! She was so proud of her family especially Andria with her international women's hockey accomplishments.
While I was working as The Examiner's sports editor Ruth always said hello when our paths crossed., reminding me she was Andria's mother. It always led to a short chat.
The world needs more people like Ruth.

I'm so incredibly sorry for your loss. Your family is such a big part of my life as a child and the memories that I have of your mom will forever be cherished. She was always so loving and caring. I am forever grateful that I was also able as an adult to spend some time with your parents when mom and I went back to visit my gramma. It was nice to know your mom in a different way... as a grown up. We had quite a few laughs. Im sending all of you so much love and strength.

We were so sad to hear of Ruth's passing. She and Terry were such good friends of Linda's parents, Tom and Scotty Atkinson. Our children spent time on the farm, fishing in the pond, sitting on Jeff and checking out all the other critters. Ruth was always smiling and super welcoming to us and everyone else who dropped by. I know she will be missed by many.
My sympathy goes out to her family.
