Grief is the price we pay for love”
Queen Elizabth ll
I have had the honor and privilege of knowing and loving Elva and Ray Duncan for more than 35 yrs. They were always about family and demonstrated it every day of their lives.
Elva loved me as I loved her. She would refer to me as her “adopted daughter”. Those words have been forever etched into my heart. She shared so much of her life with me and always made me feel like a part of it. She and I could discuss anything and she especially supported my singing and was instrumental in getting me to audition with the Peterborough Singers. 30 yrs ago.
She was a woman who knew her own mind and her generously and kindness spread wherever she went and to all the people she met. No grumbling or complaining from Eva, she always felt that others had it so much worse than her.
I miss her so badly but knowing she is with Ray now, gives me the kind of comfort that nothing else does.
Rest in peace my dear friend.
Sue
