Akers, Barry Ernest
Passed away at Peterborough Regional Health Centre on May 28th, 2024 in his 69thyear. Beloved husband of Elaine Akers (nee Stockdale) for 44 years. Loving father of Andrew Akers and Jason Akers (Amy). Affectionately known as Pop to his grandchildren Jessey, Kaylie, Alex, and Ben.
Barry will be missed by his sisters Diane Fraser (Paul) and Carolyn Akers, brother-in-law Robert Stockdale (Laura), sisters-in-law Donrey McIntosh and Karen Brunton (Bob), and Elizabeth Stockdale.
Barry is pre-deceased by his parents Ron and Eleanor Akers, parents-in-law Earle and Ferna Stockdale, brother Don Akers and brother-in-law Brian Stockdale.
Barry will be missed by many nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Barry enjoyed chatting with people, whether they were family, friends, neighbours or customers of his Akers Water Haulage business. He thoroughly enjoyed meeting new people in the community especially as a member of the Warsaw Lions Club and as an usher for 25 years at the Peterborough Memorial Centre.
Cremation has taken place and Barry has requested a private service for immediate family members.
