With love in our hearts, we announce the passing of Phyllis Newhook (nee Ryan) on April 18, 2024 at Case Manor in Bobcaygeon, Ontario. With family by her side, she passed peacefully one day shy of her 86th birthday. Phyllis was born in St. John’s, Newfoundland on April 19, 1938. Beloved wife of the late Edward (Joe) Newhook, and her dear parents, Fred and Beatrice Ryan. She will be deeply missed by her sons Edward (Sofie) and Howie. Phyllis was preceded in death by her beloved sons Curtis and Wayne. She was a cherished grandmother to granddaughters, Lisa (Chris), Tammy (Nicola), Cori (Jason), Michelle (Derek), Melissa (Mike), Ashley (Ron), Stacey (Brian). A great grandmother to Jesse (Tara), Ty, Austin, Morgan, Marriah, Gavin, Brendan, Brianna (Dylan), Ryan (Freya), Brayden, Makaela, Matthew, Macy, Annabelle, Emma, Brinley and the newest addition Raelyn. A great great grandmother to Carson and Maia.
She will be missed by her surviving brother Hubert Ryan and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her siblings Della, Phil (Sylvia), Fred (Anne), (Mary), Bea, Bernice (Richard), Cecil (Elaine). Beloved by all who knew her. Our deepest gratitude to the staff at Case Manor for all their love, support and delicate handling of Phyllis, Joe and our whole family over the years.
Her unwavering love and enduring presence will continue to resonate in their hearts and lives of us all.
A funeral service for Phyllis will be held at the Crosspoint Church, 700 Ritson Rd N, Oshawa, on Tuesday April 23rd, 2024 at 11:00 AM, with visitation to commence 1 hour prior. Interment will be at Pine Hills Cemetery, 625 Birchmount Rd, Toronto.
