Obituary of Gloria Trelford
Gloria Jean Trelford (nee Lee)
Went onto her next journey on January 27th, 2024 at the age of 77 with family by her side. Sadly, Gloria suffered a stroke in October 2023. She was on her way to recovery when she contracted pneumonia in the hospital.
Gloria was the daughter of Mildred Lee and Lloyd Lee and arrived in this world on July 2, 1946. Gloria had three daughters, Christine McCarter (Brian), Kim McCarter and Angelia McCarter. She was the proud Grandmother to Shaun, Madelaine and Tyler. Great Grandmother to Ainsley and Nora. Grandchildren looked forward to the Bobcaygeon Fall Fair every year and participating in the parade floats. Also sneaking down to the bakery to grab a treat.
Gloria was born and raised in Bobcaygeon. After some moves, she returned to her beloved hometown. She was co-owner of the bakery in Bobcaygeon. She and her daughter Angelia worked together and made sought after sticky buns that flew off the shelves.
Gloria built an off-grid home on her father’s property that she absolutely cherished. She devoted countless hours working on the property. Her gardens were her favourite pastime. She could make any flower bloom. Her vegetable gardens led to harvesting that fed many. She loved all things fast including snowmobiles and dirt bikes. Gloria also enjoyed the water; she was an accomplished slalom skier in her younger years. Gloria had amazing childhood memories with her cousins and shared more with her Grandmother Pogue.
She was a cherished friend to Pat Lomas. We thank Arling and Jack for their help over the past few years. Gloria was always up for a game of scrabble – so few won by others!
There will be a graveside service at Bury’s Green Cemetery where she will join her mother, April 14th at 12:30PM.
