DAVIDSON: Laura Evelyn
After a long life full of learning and curiosity, Evelyn Davidson passed away at the Bridge Hospice in Warkworth on Tuesday January 23, 2024, in her 106th year.
She was certainly always engaged in life and a presence in the community. A teacher through and through, Evelyn could be called upon to recall family or Norwood history. You could always be sure that she would relate with humour an honest and accurate account of all details. Evelyn was predeceased by her husband Bruce (2014), her parents Edgar and Caroline Buck, her brother Floyd, her son Don and her grandson Mark.
Evelyn’s memories, phone calls and stories will be cherished by her family including her sons Alex (Bonnie), Eric (Brenda) and her daughter Marie Nurse (Charlie).
Memories of special Grandma times will be remembered by her grandchildren Mike (Rosemary), Jeff (Heather), Erica Cain (Adam), Julie, Richard and Andrew (Jennifer) Nurse.
She loved to hear about the activities of her Great Grandchildren Adelaide, Alexa and Carter Davidson, Henry and Harvey Cain and Connor Nurse.
Our family is very thankful for the care and compassion shown to Evelyn at Maple View Retirement Residence, Campbellford Memorial Hospital and Bridge Hospice. We are indeed fortunate to have these facilities in our community.
A memorial service will be held at the Norwood United Church on Saturday February 3, 2024 at 2:00 PM, with visitation one hour prior to the service and a reception to follow. Rev. Lynn Watson officiating. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to Campbellford Memorial Hospital or the Residents Council of Maple View Retirement Residence. Interment in the Asphodel-Norwood Cemetery at a later date. Arrangements entrusted to THE HENDREN FUNERAL HOMES, NORWOOD CHAPEL, 36 Queen Street, Norwood.
