Obituary of Frederick Wayne Read

Frederick Wayne Read entered into eternal life on Monday, January 22, 2024. He was in his 81st year. Preceded by his Mom and Dad, Gladys (nee Pedwell) and Ken Read, and sister Mary-Jane Gordon (Bill). He is survived by his beloved Sheila (nee McKague), daughter Jennifer Read Donahue (Michael), granddaughter Katie Donahue and grandsons Connor, Matthew (Janelle) and Brendan (Rafi) Donahue. As well as his nieces Kristy Gordon and Kari McLeod (Warren) and cousin Brian Hay (Dorothy). 

Fred was born and educated in Bobcaygeon, except for some time at Trinity College School in Port Hope. He married Sheila soon after high school and they built a wonderful life together. In the early 1980s they converted their farm at Nogies Creek to Sheffield Greens Golf Course. Fred enjoyed playing hockey (rural Junior B and old timers), and hunting with his friends, especially Wayne Kimble. He is missed by us all. 

A visitation will be held at THE HENDREN FUNERAL HOME – MONK CHAPEL 6 Helen Street, Bobcaygeon on Friday February 2^nd, 2024 from 4:00 PM till 7:00 PM. Interment will take place in the spring.
