We were quite shocked to hear about Eric. He was Jason’s teammate in Lakefield and we all spent what seemed to be endless hours in the arena. He was a gentle giant , and committed to winning. Sending our heartfelt condolences to you all. We know the feeling. Eric is now with my son Zachariah. My deepest sympathies for your loss. I’ve chosen the orange candle because EVERY CHILD MATTERS , even if they are 32. RIP young fella. Say hello to my baby boy.

Sending love and strength to my family and friends who were lucky enough to be touched by Eric. He fought like hell against his mental illness, and even throughout that uphill battle he always found space to offer others a laugh. Although we aren’t blood relatives, I always have and always will consider eric as part of the family. Thank you to Kort for bringing him into our lives, although we wish he could’ve been around much longer. My next barefoot Budweiser adventure will be in your honour, Tiger. Watch over us all. We are sorry for your loss. We can’t even imagine how you must be feeling. I only met Eric for a short time on my visit to Apsley when Leah lived there. I remember him being a funny guy. My family is so sad to hear this news. My 2 boys had a great time playing rings with Eric at the family gathering this summer. The boys talked about him all the way home and thought he was a blast. Brant and I extend our sincerest condolences to Eric’s immediate family and to Kortney and his in-laws. We got to meet Eric a few times at the Hockaday’s and at our hockey fundraiser Halloween dance. He was always quiet and seemed shy but then he’d sidle up to you and start chatting and you could tell he was kind and that it was “just his way”. I hope there’s peace in the thought that he’s in a better place and that he really is at peace now.

Even though I was young when I knew Eric well, he always had a natural ability to bring people together with laughter. We had many great times all together, whether that be at golf lessons, cottages, or the halls of Apsley central. Although there was usually a sense of mischief in our adventures, he always knew how to bring the fun in everything we did. I will always be so grateful for the time I had growing up with all of you, and I will keep my memories of Eric close to my heart. I am sending my sincere love and condolences to all of you.
