So shocked and saddened by the loss of Heather. I taught with Heather for many years at Byron Northview in London constantly observing her compassion and caring commitment to her students. Our families became friends and we spent a lot of time together including a memorable cottage experience. We lost touch and I was thrilled when Heather visited me last summer. We caught up on our lives and she proudly filled me in on the accomplishments of her cherished children Erica, Dani and Myles. She seemed so happy with her post retirement life and partner, confidently exploring yoga, gardening and travel. I'm so glad she reached out and we had a chance to share our lives. So sad that our plans to visit again soon will never happen. God bless her family.

I am so sad to hear the news of Heather. She has been my friend for so many years- from our Byron Wildfire Ski Group, sharing Spec Ed info, girls’ getaways. I hope she is skiing the slopes & sharing a beverage with Bev, Terry & Bruce. I can hear the giggles. Hugs to her family & friends.

Heather, or Hefty as I knew her, was a delightful person and was very helpful and kind to me. As I am 96 years old, she helped enable me to enjoy my cabin and cottage at times and was also my chauffeur for some important events in my life. She was a bright light and she will be missed. I am deeply saddened by the terrible news of Heather's passing. We were childhood friends growing up in Kawartha Heights, Peterborough, ON. All the neighbourhood children would love to play in her playhouse and on the swing set. So many fond memories. I especially loved Heather's sweet laugh and beautiful smile. My heartfelt condolences go out to Heather's family and friends. Missing you very much. Love, Brenda XO

Heather brought love and happiness into all the Charlton families lives! Her quiet presence and loving understanding, was felt by each one of us, whenever we were together.
I will really miss her personal yoga lesson, on line, each week! She would calm, relax, stretch my muscles, and remind me how to breathe
Thank you Heather, We love, and will always miss you.xO Diane Charlton

I was shocked and saddened to hear of Heather's passing. We met at Fanshawe College in the early 80s and were close friends for many years. We had recently reconnected and she shared many happy stories about her kids and her new life in Port Hope. I extend my sincere and heartfelt sympathy to Howard, Erica, Dani, Myles and Carolyn and their families.

What terrible news to hear of your mom's passing. Heather was a remarkable woman who was a champion for so many who struggled with academic and emotional challenges at school. She was kind and empathetic and inspired other educators to try their best for these students each day.
But my fondest memories of your mom were when we were neck deep in organizing the annual KPR elementary gymnastics meets. We all had our roles but worked as a team to make the meet a success each year. She was a great convenor, coach and champion for this special athletic event in KPR. Her smile and enthusiasm for watching these athletes compete was always a highlight for me. She left her mark on so many and will be missed by many more. My sincere condolences to the family.
Thinking of you all....

Heather was a caring, fun-loving friend/sister who will be very dearly missed. My heart is with her closest family who have lost such a vibrant and present part of their lives. Heather (aka Hefty) has left me with many memories of happy times with young Erica, Dani and Odie, practical jokes on my father with Caroline and snowbank-jumping on girls’ weekends. She always brought her best to everyone and to everything she did. May her sparkle live on in your memories and bring comfort in this very difficult time.

I am so sad to hear of Heather's sudden passing. We worked for years at the school board together in Special Education. Heather was always there to listen and support us with whatever we needed. She cared deeply about kids and all of us who worked to make their lives a better place. Heather truly is 'good people'. She will be dearly missed. My sincerest condolences go out to her family at this very difficult time.

We are shocked and saddened by the sudden passing of Heather. Although we didn’t see one another often in the last few years, she remained a very special friend. So many wonderful memories made since she moved in across the street from us back in the late 1980’s. Our prayers and positive thoughts go out to her family and friends to help get them through this very difficult time.
