ROSBOROUGH: Doris Mildred
Passed away peacefully at Hospice Peterborough, on Tuesday, April 25, 2023. Doris Rosborough (nee Ellis) of Selwyn in her 90th year. Doris was a longtime member of Lakefield Baptist Church where she served many years in a number of administrative positions, and in her favourite role working in the nursery. She graduated from PCVS and worked in the office at Outboard Marine in Peterborough. After raising her family, she enjoyed serving locals and tourists alike for many years at Jack & Jill Farms Market. She loved flowers, birdwatching, doing crosswords, reading, and hearing about the exploits of her many grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband of 69 years, Gordon. She missed him dearly since his passing last November. She is loved and deeply missed by her children Dave Rosborough (Rose) of Trent Hills, Jim Rosborough (Barb) of Lakefield and Sue Rosborough of Cobourg. Loving grandmother of Brian (Leanne), Bryce (Karissa), Brent (Jocelyn), David (Laura), Darryl (Jen), Daniel, Sara (Jason), Amy (Ken), Josh (Megan), Tim (Stephanie), and Liam (Brooke). Dear great grandmother of 22 great grandchildren. Survived by her siblings Joan Allen (the late Bernard), George Ellis (Ellen), Herb Ellis (Gail), Connie Lehoux (Paul), Sharon Ellis, Carol Dobrensky (Peter). Predeceased by her brothers Frank, Robert, and Joe. The family would like to thank Drs. Sarwar and Choi, and the staff at the PRHC Stroke Unit, Dr. Morelli and the wonderful staff at Hospice Peterborough for their loving care and compassion. Friends and relatives may call at THE HENDREN FUNERAL HOMES, LAKEFIELD CHAPEL, 66 Queen Street, Lakefield, on Thursday, May 4, 2023 from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. A funeral service will be held at Lakefield Baptist Church, 36 Regent Street, Lakefield on Friday, May 5, 2023 at 11:00 AM. A reception will follow in the fellowship hall of the church. Interment Lakefield Cemetery after the reception.
