Obituary of Gloria Ann Galvin

GALVIN: Gloria Ann (nee Buta)

Passed away peacefully at her home on Thursday March 16, 2023.  Gloria Galvin of Lakefield in her 80^th year.  Gloria, originally a city girl, followed her husband Jim to make a wonderful life for her family in Lakefield.  Her home was always open as was evident by the many pets and teenage friends of her boys that were welcomed into her home over the years.  Loving wife of the late Jim Galvin (d. 2012).  Sadly missed by her sons Bob Galvin (Susan Ramraj) of Toronto, Jeff Galvin (Paula Freeburn) of Lakefield and John Galvin (Sarah Davey) of Lakefield.  Dear grandma of McKie, Nataya, Jim, Jackson and Austin.  Survived by her sister Betty Weatherhead of Burlington, niece Brenda Jenner (Matt) and nephew Tom Weatherhead (Tai).  Predeceased by her parents Tony and Rita and brother Leon.  Friends and relatives may call at THE HENDREN FUNERAL HOMES, LAKEFIELD CHAPEL, 66 Queen Street, Lakefield on Wednesday March 22, 2023 from 2-4 & 7-9 PM.  A funeral service will be held in the chapel on Thursday March 23, 2023 at 11:00 AM.  Interment Lakefield Cemetery.  A reception will follow in the Heritage Room of the funeral home.  Memorial donations may be made to the L.D.M.H.A or Hospice Peterborough as expressions of sympathy and may be made by contacting the funeral home at 705-652-3355.
