Obituary of Michael John Foot

Passed away at Ross Memorial Hospital on March 11, 2023. Michael was born in Britain in 1940, where he became an electrical engineer. He emigrated to Canada in 1967, where he worked for Northern Telecom in Canada, Singapore, Manila and England. Mike left the company to work for Britain’s Volunteer Services Overseas, working in Papua New Guinea and Zimbabwe. On return to Canada, Michael and his family settled in the Bobcaygeon area. In 1997 he began backpacking in the Far East in the winter and biking and walking in summer.

beloved husband of José Foot (née McAdams) for sixty years. Loving father of Dominica (Nick) and Richard (Wendy), and granddad to Adam, Christopher and Lauren. Michael is survived by his sister Gillian (Chris).
