SHORT: Margaret Letitia

 

Passed away at Hospice Peterborough on Friday February 3, 2023.  Margaret (nee Manley) of Lakefield in her 100th year.  Wife of the late Richard “Mac” Short.  Beloved mother of Donna Bell (Earle) of Peterborough and Arlene Rowan (Jim) of Bailieboro.  Cherished grandmother of Earle Richard Bell (Wendy), Shari Lee Canning (Jim), Dan Rowan (Shari) and Paul Rowan (Katie).  Dear great grandmother of Nicholas (Kait), Dylan (Carley), Cassidy (Kurtis), Julia (Phil), Tyler (Katie), Laura (Malachi), Becky, Luke, McCallum, Maeve, Anna and great great grandchildren Nolan, Ellie, Blakely, Brodie and Poppy.  Remembered by her sisters-in-law Doreen and Iva and several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her brothers Keith Manley (Audrey), Allan Manley (Marjorie), Elwood Manley and sisters Gladys Richardson (George), Madeline Elmhurst (Dick) and Elva Coward (Clifford).  A funeral service will be held at THE HENDREN FUNERAL HOMES, LAKEFIELD CHAPEL, 66 Queen Street, Lakefield on Saturday February 11, 2023 at 12:00 PM.  Visitation will commence at 10:30 AM.  A reception will follow in the Heritage Room of the Funeral Home.  Interment will be held at a later date at Upper Cemetery, Keene.  Memorial donations may be made to Lakefield United Church Memorial Fund or Hospice Peterborough as expressions of sympathy and may be made by contacting the funeral home at www.hendrenfuneralhome.com or by calling 705-652-3355.
