I 1st came to know Maggie from her being my volunteer driver through Community Care. Little did they know at the office that she went above and beyond when it came to her volunteering to help me in ways that were not even part of her volunteer duties. As she had said to me once, "I always try to do the right thing". She did extra grocery {and even fast food} pickups for me as she knew that I do not drive and live in the country with no other means to get anywhere. She knew my penchant for fast food and need of fresh, good quality produce from a store where she went in to shop for me {again, not part of her duties ... was only supposed to be pickups from stores that have online ordering} was an extra way she could help me and so she most willingly did so.
It's very easy to sum Maggie up. She was a totally giving person who wanted nothing in return but to know she had made someone's life better/easier. She will be greatly missed by many and, I for one will always miss her and be so appreciative of all she did for me.
My deepest condolences Bob {who I spoke briefly with a time or 2}, Richard and Dakota {who she spoke lovingly about}, Dory her sweet dog who'll miss her taking her for evening walks, her entire family, her numerous friends and her long list of graphics customers.
If you knew her even in the slightest, her kindness was obvious. Personally, I know of 2 people who met her all of 1 time and, the 1st thing they said to me when I talked to them after they met Maggie was, "She seems like such a nice person".
You weren't just my Community Care volunteer, far from it. You were a friend to me, and I can say they are very few and far between. R.I.P., Maggie.
