BOWLAND, Donna Ruth

1938 – 2022

On October 15, 2022, Donna Bowland, our dear mom and grandma/nana passed away at the age of 84 after a long struggle with COPD. She was born March 8, 1938, the only beloved child of Harold and Ruth Haviland. Donna was raised in Boston, Ontario and attended Waterford High School. She loved her high school years and still kept in touch with her dear high school friends. 

She met her love and life partner, Frank Bowland and they married on November 24th, 1956. They were married for 60 years when dad passed away in 2017. They shared a lot of great adventures and so many amazing memories were made together.

Mom lived her whole life for her family. She will be dearly missed by her son Mark, daughter Sandra (Dave) Adams, daughter Julie (Mark) Plumley, daughter in law Sheri and predeceased by her oldest son, David. Mom loved children and was a devoted grandma/nana to Kyle, Katelyn, Marleigh, Matthew, Devin, Reid, Boyd, Quin and great granddaughters Frankie and Ayla. Much loved Surrogate and step-grandma to many.

Donna will be missed by her many nieces and nephews, brother-in-law, Joe, and many dear friends near and far.

A visitation will be held at THE HENDREN FUNERAL HOMES- Monk Chapel, 6 Helen Street, Bobcaygeon, on Friday, October 21, 2022 from 2:00 - 3:00pm with the service to follow at 3:00pm. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian lung Association or a charity of one’s choice would be greatly appreciated by the family.
