Obituary of Enni Elisabeth Vikman
It is with profound sadness that our family announces the passing of our beloved Enni Vikman of Toronto, ON at the remarkable young age of 97. Cherished wife of 50 years to her late husband Lasse. Beloved daughter of the late Amanda and Herman, and mother of the late Tuula Wilkinson. Dear mother-in-law of Tom Wilkinson. Beloved Mummu (grandmother) of Tara Wilkinson (Andrew Csafordi), Todd Wilkinson, Tania Fredericks (David Fredericks), Tamara Anderson (Scott Anderson) and Tiffenni Wilkinson (David Roadhouse). Iso-Mummu (great grandmother) of Bailey (Justin Frederick), Braydon, Arwen, Kieran, Andie, Ashton, Kaiden
and Rayna. A treasured friend to many. Enni was born and raised on a farm in Finland in 1925. After enduring the horrors of WW2, she married Lasse in 1945 and later immigrated with their daughter, Tuula to join him in Canada in 1954. They worked hard to build a new life in Toronto and a cottage up north where the family shared many happy memories. Enni had a remarkable
strength of spirit (SISU) and overcame many hardships and challenges in her lifetime, always determined to bounce back stronger than before. She loved animals and children and felt a special connection to every creature and child she came in contact with. Enni was a wonderful cook and baker. Her family will always savour the memories of her many special dishes. She was a wonderful grandmother - creating fun and magical experiences. There was always a twinkle in her blue-grey eyes and she had the most beautiful smile. She also had a great sense of humour, and would offer sound advice telling everyone she came in contact with: "Don't
work too hard - it's not worth it". In keeping with her wishes, a private family funeral has taken place. To honour Enni, the family requests that in lieu of flowers donations be made to support her favourite charities - the Salvation Army or the Humane Society.
