Obituary of Craig Nichols
It is with heavy hearts and great sorrow that we, the family announce the sudden passing of Craig Calvin Nichols in his 60th year in Peterborough, ON. Craig was formerly of Nicholsville in Deer Lake, Newfoundland. He was a loving father, grandfather, son and friend.
Predeceased by his brother Darren, his grandparents Roy and Rita {Guinchard} Nichols, Isaac and Mable {Wight} Eddy, and his great nieces Autumn and Freya Chynn.
Leaving to mourn with loving memories, his only child, Teela Nichols {Fiance Joshua O’Connell} and his grandchildren Bailey and Michael Nichols. Parents Calvin and Edna Nichols, sisters Cindy Caines {Paul Knott}, and Angela Nichols Chynn. His nieces, Joanne {Nigel Brake}, Samantha Chynn, Reisha Knott, and his nephew Justin Chynn. He also leaves behind his loving fur baby Buddy his dog.
Craig had been employed with Kawartha Capital for over 20 years. A family operated business by the McLeod family, Paul, Sharon, Dylan, Kyle, Travis and Jake. He was more than just an employee to them. He was a valuable asset to their company and was greatly appreciated for his hard work, dedication, his quick wit and humor, but most of all his presence.
Craig shared his first life journey with his first love Wanda {Samms} Nichols, and together they created great memories and a beautiful baby girl, Teela Christina Nichols. As life changed so did their paths but they always remained friends and will be forever missed.
On his second life journey Craig met Marion Hamilton who loved biking almost as much as he did. And so began their memories for the next 20 years.
Craig loved travelling to warm places, riding his motorcycle, cruising in his lake boat, driving his old cars, ice fishing with his father and going up North to spend time with his friend Ron Roberts at his cottage, relaxing, sledding and chillin.
One of Craig’s greatest happy moments was when Joshua asked him for Teela’s hand in marriage. He knew that Josh was the Man who would take good care of his daughter. He will miss the day they wed but we’re sure he will be there in spirit and with them always.
In keeping with Craig’s wishes, cremation was requested and a Celebration of Life will take place both in Newfoundland and Ontario at a later date.
Anyone wishing to donate in Craig’s memory, please give to your local animal shelter.
