FLEMING: Douglas Roy
Passed away peacefully after a short battle with cancer on Friday May 13, 2022 with his family by his side. Doug Fleming of Norwood aged 73 years. Doug worked in Quality Control for General Motors for over 30 years. He was very active in the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #300, Norwood for many years, having served as the branch’s President and Past President. He was also a very active member and Past Master of the Norwood Masonic Lodge, #223, A.F.& A.M and a member of the Antique Car Show Club. Doug had an adventurous soul who loved travelling and spending time in nature. He is loved and missed by his wife Lynn and his children Paul Fleming (Trina) of Norwood, Michelle Fleming of Uxbridge, Cory Fleming (Cassnae) of Port Hope and Casey Fleming (Molly) of Ireland. Grandpa is remembered by Rodney, Kylee and Kaelyn. Survived by his brothers John Fleming (Karen) of Northbrook, Bob Fleming (Val) of Hamilton, sister-in-law Bonnie Townshend of Norwood and several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents Lloyd and Edna, in-laws Ed and Marg Blake and his best buddy Wiser. Cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Doug’s Life will be held at the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch #300, Norwood, on Saturday June 25, 2022 from 1:00 – 4:00 PM. Memories will be shared at 1:30 PM.
