Obituary of Lloyd McCoy
Ernest “Lloyd” McCoy, age 93, son of Eva and Percival McCoy, was born in Toronto, Ontario on August 6th, 1928. He passed away peacefully on April 12th, at Ross Memorial Hospital in Lindsay after a long illness.
Lloyd is survived by his wife Evelyn McCoy, his three children, Kathy Smith, Diane McCoy and Lorne McCoy. Lloyd had 7 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
Lloyd was the last born of 5 children and was an uncle to many nieces and nephews. Lloyd’s biggest passion in life was his family and especially loved going to family reunions to catch up on everyone’s activities. Lloyd had a deep hardy laugh and was always willing to listen and the family loved him
Lloyd worked for Shell Oil for 30 years before retiring at age 57, when he and his wife Evelyn moved to Bobcaygeon. They soon were involved in Dunsford golf club, the Caygeon bowling club where they met many new friends. Lloyd loved to go into his workshop and carve away at wood. Many of those carvings are with his children and grandchildren today.
Lloyd will be sorely missed by many, but remembered for his love for life and family, and that great laugh.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, June 11, 2022 from 10:00-11:00 AM at THE HENDREN FUNERAL HOMES- MONK CHAPEL, 6 Helen Street, Bobcaygeon with a funeral service to follow at 11:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Heart & Stroke Foundation would be greatly appreciated.
