Dear Ata,
Thinking of you, on this, your first Heavenly Birthday (September 29, St. Michael's Day). This morning, a mass of intention is held for you, at Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal Slovenian Church (Brown’s Line), and I will light a candle for you at St. Michael’s Cathedral. Hoping the light and love will reach you. Singing Happy Birthday to you, as always. Until we meet again….
Love, Your daughter, Miriam

My name is Robert Smith and I’m so very saddened to find out today that Frank has passed. I first met Frank around ‘84-‘85 when I was 21-22 yrs old at CFTO.The thing that made Frank a standout was just how fast he worked. He was so good that the resident carpenters in the shop there were obviously jealous because of his skill level.Fast forward a few years and I’m working on an IATSE local 873 movie set and there’s Frank. He remembered me and we chatted at lunchtime and breaks and discovered that he was living in Apsley and I lived in Ennismore Ont. so we had a connection. To this day I’ve never met and will never meet a finer craftsman than Frank. He would get a set of blueprints and look at them for a few minutes and WITHOUT writing down numbers or notes, off he went and that kitchen or project was done in a time nobody can come close to and perfect. He was the man who showed me how to cut circles out of plywood on the table saw. I can honestly say without a doubt that I personally have never or will ever meet a better craftsman than Frank. There’s few that I hold in high esteem regarding my craft and Frank is at the very top.We often chatted about his personal life and I know he had a few regrets BUT he always told me how much he loved his family. R.I.P. Frank . I’ll see you in the workshop on the other side .

Frank made us feel so welcome when we bought our place on Lasswade. As my son said ,he was the best country neighbour you could ask for. We shared many chats over the years, we will really miss our friend Frank, his friendship and stories and genuine generosity. (so will his local deer friends.)
