Obituary of David Fitzgerald

It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of David Joseph Fitzgerald on Wednesday May 27th, 2009 at the age of 46. David will be forever missed by his parents, Don and Rosemary Fitzgerald (Maley) of Bobcaygeon, brothers Barry and Mark (Julie), and sister Kelly (David Jeffrey) of Toronto. One of Dave’s greatest loves was entertaining his nieces Madeline, Camryn, and Lindsay, and his nephews Jack and Reed. Whether it was pushing the girls on the swings, or taking the boys for a ride on the lawn tractor, Uncle Dave showed boundless energy and deep devotion when it came to the little ones. Dave’s other great love was fishing. Better described as an “enthusiastic“, rather than “prolific” fisherman, Dave, along with most recreational anglers would tell you that actually “catching” fish isn’t the point. But Dave loved the peace and solitude of being out on the water. Visitation will be held at the Monk Funeral Home on Friday, May 29, from 6 to 8 pm. The Mass will be held on Saturday, May 30 at 11am at Our Lady Queen of Peace Church in Bobcaygeon, ON. Interment at St. Aloysius/Our Lady Queen of Peace Cemetery in Bobcaygeon. We ask that in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Red Cross or the Canadian Diabetes Association.
