I remember being a kid and going to visit at Aunt Gale and Uncle Bill's. They had some oversized couch cousins, and Shawn used to squish me in between them like a sandwich. When I was at the arena and he was working, I'd go out and move the nets sometimes when he came out to clean the ice. Shawn always had the best sense of humour and the biggest heart. I am grateful to have known him. ❤️ All my love to Elaine, Mason and Cole, and to all the Campbells and Armstrongs. He will be deeply missed.

Shawn was such a hard working and caring person. I babysat him when he was a young lad and we had so much fun playing hockey and ball in the driveway with his brothers and cousins. I watched him grow to be a wonderful husband to Elaine and terrific father to his 2 boys Mason and Cole. Shawn, so much like his parents Bill and Gale, had a huge heart. He was always there in good times and bad. Shawn also had a very good sense of humor and we shared so many laughs, even in his last couple of years when he was so sick. He lived his last days to the fullest. Shawn will be missed by all who knew him. It was an honor to have known you. Love Patsy P.

I am Shawn’s cousin. I watched him grow from a baby. And such a cute one at that! I used to babysit Shawn and his brothers during the summer holidays. I remember playing in the barn, going on long hikes down the old, overgrown road. We were always building things with an abundance of lego when we were inside. We used to climb the apple tree by the barn and collect apples. Years later, when I was a teacher, Shawn would come to my schools with my Uncle Bill over the years for horse-drawn sleigh rides during my Carnaval Week. I really loved that—-and so did the students at my schools.Most of the kids had never seen a real horse in person let alone a Belgian. As a father, he told me about his young sons raising chickens and collecting eggs. I will always remember Shawn as a kind and caring person. He always had a warm smile. My thoughts are with Elaine, Mason, and Cole, and the rest of the Campbell and Armstrong families as they navigate this sadness.
