My condolences for you loss. It's unfortunate that there couldn't be a larger gathering to show how many lives Al's larger than life personality has been part of.
I still have fond memories of the times spent at the cottages in Haliburton and on pigeon lake. Spent many nights honing my billiard skills against Al, Tim, Peter and my dad in the garage while listening to the country western tapes I used to make for him. Julie and I were just saying not too long ago that hearing a Johnny Cash song often reminds us of Al.
He will be missed but never forgotten.

Cherry colts, contagious laugh, signing that beam above his pool table, his "WHAT ARE YOU DOING!!" trying not to laugh getting us kids in trouble for staying up so late, house shaking snoring, his love for Bogie (Derek, you did blow in that dogs face) & his Miss Franny.
Thank you for some unforgettable childhood memories Uncle Al ❤

"Hello Darlin" are the words that echo in my mind along with Al's big hugs that were always followed with a "How ya doing" as his smiling eyes expressed genuine interest in my life. We shared many stories of our love for our families as well as the pain of loss in our lives. My heart is heavy but I am so very grateful for having known this wonderful man. ❤

Over 35 years many great stories were told
Never knowing how, each hunting week would unfold
Whether we got seven deer, or got shut out
When it came to cards and beer, we never ran out
In 1985 Al brought a potential member "Tim"
After shooting two deer his first year "Tim was In"
It was 1994 before Al had some luck
Along with Tim Ken and Dale , Al got his buck
When it came to one liners--In a class all alone
Followed by Dad, Roger and Warren
To those who never got to hear Al sing
You would have enjoyed his version of "Red Wing"
Some traditions we did maintain
From Sunday's turkey dinners to Euchre when it rained
And not to forget our evening jolt
Of Sauza Tequila lemon and Salt
The camp's going to miss you BIG LAD
But we take comfort your up there, with Dale and Dad

Our condolences and sympathies to Al's Family on his passing. 'The Power Behind The Bar' was one of the first Curling Club members that welcomed us to the Club five years ago.
