We were fortunate to meet Keith and Helen after they visited SA where they stayed in our friend’s Bed&Breakfast in Johannesburg. When Keith heard that we recently immigrated to Canada and were living in Peterborough, they immediately contacted us on their return, and invited us to a dinner at their home - a lovely dinner prepared mostly by Chef Keith. And many a wonderful dinner, highlighted with stories of their life experiences (and stories of their 4 daughters and their families) were shared with us during our visits with one another.
When we received the notification of our Canadian Citizenship ceremony and saw that we could invite friends to join us in Oshawa, we also invited Keith and Helen and they were some of the first people to say “Welcome Canadians” to us. Keith was very impressed with the way that new Canadians were sworn in and told us that this was the first time that they have attended such a ceremony. (See photo)
Keith was definitely a friend who was always receptive to new experiences - and his general knowledge and zest for life still have us in awe. Rus in Vrede Keith. (R.I.P.)
