Obituary of Raymond Armstrong
It is with great sadness that the family of Raymond Armstrong advise of his sudden passing on Monday, November 23rd, 2020 in his 90th year. Ray was a long-time resident of the Bobcaygeon area and active member of Eganridge Golf Course. Following his retirement as Chief Cost Accountant with De Havilland Aircraft, he and his beloved wife and soulmate, Beaty, built their dream home in the Country Club Heights neighbourhood, spending their winters in Florida. Ray was a sports enthusiast and ardent fan of the Blue Jays, Toronto Maple Leafs, Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Florida Gators. His true passion was golfing and spent many hours on the Eganridge Golf course with the “Gotcha guys” along with his wife, neighbours and friends. Ray was the proverbial gentleman; he was charming to a fault and always had an interesting story or point of view.
Ray is predeceased by his wife and survived by his three daughters, Carol and her Husband Pat, Cathy and her Husband Leo, Nancy and her Husband Randy; and two step-sons, Jeff and his Wife Krista, Tim and his Wife Janet; seven grandchildren, Michelle and her Husband Josh; Amanda and her Husband Michael, Matthew and his Wife, Julie, Haley and her partner Cody, Sean, Corey and his partner Megan, Jessica, and three great-grandchildren, Elizabeth, Madison and Ember; nieces and nephews.
The family will be holding a private service with plans for a celebration of Ray’s life in early summer 2021 at a time when we can all come together once again. Special thanks to Dad’s wonderful friends and neighbours who supported him during these last difficult years. We will be forever grateful.
Perhaps they are not stars in the sky, but rather openings where our loved ones shine down to let us know they are happy.
Love You Dad
