Danny was the first person that Marci and I met in Apsley. He would visit us on his ATV, sometimes up to 3 times a day. We would get the local town "news", talk about the weather, farming hunting and even hockey. He would visit us at the house, come in for a coffee, he would visit us in the barn, out in the fields or even out on the rink. He would even take me fishing and show me all the local lakes. We never did get out for a deer hunt together, although we talked about it every year.
I really enjoyed going out to breakfast with him and driving all over the place to get hay. He was so good, he would even let my son Gavin come along. He would always show up at the house with treats for the kids. Although we were not related, he was like another grandfather to us, and a great grandfather to our kids. Danny, you will be missed, our farm will not be the same without your visits. I was looking forward to many more years of stories, news and jokes over coffee's, unfortunately, that wasn't meant to be. May you rest in peace my friend, the Swift family will forever miss you.
