Obituary of Levon Mazakian

MAZAKIAN: Levon Passed away on Sunday April 5, 2020, aged 84 years. He was loved and will be deeply missed by his wife Shaké Mazakian and by his children Hagop Mazakian (Cathy), Esther Mazakian (Wayne) and Hasmik Karadimas (Tony). Loving Dede to Meghan Mazakian (Richard), Tori Mazakian, Spencer Mazakian (Olivia) and Juliette Anoush Karadimas. Levon was the dear brother of the late Zaven Mazakian (Osunna), the late Elizabeth Mouradian (Sarkis) and Kevork Mazakian (Ashkhen). Levon and Shaké immigrated to Canada from Israel in 1968. They wanted to give their children a better life with more opportunities available. They never forgot their Armenian roots and made a point of instilling all of the wonderful qualities from their heritage in their children and grandchildren. Levon was a deeply compassionate man with deep ties to his culture. He had the effortless ability to make everyone laugh no matter the occasion. He enriched the people in his midst with humour and love. Levon was a true family man. He cherished his wife, children and grandchildren, and everything he did revolved around their wellbeing. He was a passionate man with a love for life, music (especially Arabic) and culture. He looked forward to regular get togethers where his children and grandchildren would come over to have dinner and spend time with him and his wife. During these visits he loved to reminisce about his love of Israel and everything Armenian. He would spend time with his grandchildren talking about his childhood, when he met and married their Nene, his love of his homeland, having them over for sleepovers, pool dates at his condo, many trips to Bobcaygeon, picking them up from school, traveling on a cruise together and simply sharing his love of life. Levon was the life of every party, he had an infectious personality with the best laugh. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. A private family service will be held at THE HENDREN FUNERAL HOMES, MONK CHAPEL, Bobcaygeon. Interment will be held at Dunsford Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to The Brain Tumour Foundation of Canada as expressions of sympathy and may be made by contacting the funeral home.
