Sheila, I offer my sincere condolences to you and family for your loss. I only met you a couple of times at CTC Petroleum events but Dave and I had a great working relationship over my 25 years. I trust that you and your family will use the memories of Dave to help cope with the loss, perhaps with an occasional smile. He always had a chuckle in his presentation, considered outspoken and was widely appreciated as one of our senior statesmen at CTP. I played more than a few golf games with Dave and I enjoyed his teasing and light hearted cajoling. I won't forget him.
Sheila , so very sorry on your loss. We shared a many many grand times in the 80/90s ,all due to Canadian Tire Petroleum . Dave and I worked together over so many years , and then the years where we would join your gang of friends on Chemong Lake . Heck our 3 boys were only 3,5, &7. While we drifted apart we still often thought of you guys settled away in Buckhorn. Once you see my note Sherry and I would love to chat. Hope you are well.Dave was always a friend with a strong handshake. Rob Smart
Dave was a friend and we will miss his smile, his quips and the special customer service that he performed day in and day out. I first met Dave in June 1994 when I had just joined the Canadian Tire Petroleum division. Dave managed a gas bar and PitStop complex in Southern Ontario. He was the first employee I met as we were both attending a Manager's conference. He quickly welcomed me to the team, convinced me to hike into downtown Banff (where the conference was being held) to get supplies and introduced me to the team. I was invited to play in a foursome at the Banff Springs Golf Course with Dave. He was a much better golfer than I was. I will always remember the attention he showed me. This started a long period of connections as he moved to Buckhorn and we moved to Sandy Lake. If any of the family would like to connect to have me share some more stories of his time at Canadian Tire just send me a reply with your contact info.
Working in the community, I saw Dave at least twice a week. I still can't believe it and my heartfelt condolences go out to his Wife, his Family and his Home Hardware Family. Such a good kind soul..he will be missed.
