Keith & Family,
I taught with Bubbles at LDSS. One of my fondest memories of her was when we organized a presentation of "Twas in the moon of wintertime" for the Christmas assembly. We had the music class sing the verses in English and the chorus in Ojibwa. We also had students act out the words with a first nations nativity scene with straw bales, skins etc. and had a hunter with skins prowl across the gym. For some of the students involved, it was the first time they had ever "performed" in front of the school.
Keith, you and Bubbles were an amazing team and have passed on so many wonderful talents and so much invaluable knowledge to your family and the community. I learned a lot from Shelley about the treatment of our First Nations people and have shared that knowledge at every opportunity. DJ was one of my more dedicated track and field and cross country runners. I also had the privilege of teaching and/or knowing many other members of your wonderful family. Curve Lake has always had a very special place in my heart and I was delighted when our daughter, Carolyn, joined the health team there where she too got to know your family. Rest in Peace Bubbles.
May the memories that others share help your family at this very difficult time.

So sad to hear about Anita's passing, gone on to a better world. The community has lost another one of their Ojibwe language speakers, we are getting fewer in numbers & we look forward to our young ones to carry on our cultural language. I remember when I was about 5 and Becky Drew and a bunch of kids and our parents were there in the log house. Around Easter time randomly pops in my head twice a year and I smell that kitchen and hear my aunts and uncles laughing. I remember how funny they were. Always good to me no matter what I did. I worked with Bubbles at the Day Care in Curve Lake she was a loving kind friend to me and she always teased me when I would go to Toronto to visit family .She would say hot child in the city there is a song about it and every time I hear the song I think of Bubbles .
