Obituary of Jodean Jean (Potter) Maia

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Jodean Maia, at age 55, on Friday December 13, 2019. 

Jo was an incredible mother, who treasured her children Brittany, Shelby, and Dylan. Cherished by her husband Jim Maia and adored by her parents George and Merion (Mallory) Potter and brother Jethroy Potter. Jo lived a beautiful life surrounded by loving family, friends, and of course, her dogs.

Jo had a vivacious personality, a loving soul and was never afraid to be her true self. Jo always had a way of making people laugh and enjoyed all the wonderful things life had to offer. All who loved her dearly will never forget her tenacity, wit, charm, including her incredible strength and grace as she fought her last year through a challenging battle with cancer.

Family and friends are invited to attend Jodean Maia’s visiting hours on Tuesday, December 17, 2019 from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., at Hendren Funeral Homes - Lakefield Chapel, located at 66 Queen St, Lakefield, ON K0L 2H0. Funeral and Reception will take place the following day on Wednesday December 18, 2019 at 11:00 a.m., at the same Lakefield location.
