Obituary of Dorothy Joyce Draper
Draper, Dorothy (nee MacKay) With incredible strength, grace and family by her side, Dorothy Draper, 84, passed away peacefully on August 18, 2013. Dorothy was the adored wife of the late George Draper with whom she shared more than 30 wonderful years. Dorothy was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, a devoted wife, and true and loyal friend. She was an avid book reader, loved baking, chocolate and the many social activities (bridge, euchre, shuffleboard) with her good friends at Victoria Place, Bobcaygeon, where she and George thoroughly enjoyed their last 17 years. Born in Winnipeg, October 10, 1928, to George and Evelyn (nee Baker) MacKay, Dorothy married Reg Waters and had three daughters, Nancy, Kathy, Jane. After living briefly in Vancouver, the family settled in Markham, Ontario where Dorothy became a registered nursing assistant. After her divorce and working as an RNA for a number of years Dorothy returned to college to study and work in accounting. Dorothy married George Draper of Scarborough, on December 18, 1982 and her family grew to 5 children with Janice and Brian. She will be lovingly remembered by her children Nancy (husband Roy Stewart), Kathy (husband Al Boucquey), Jane Waters, Janice (husband Steve Gallant), and Brian (wife Gayle nee Campbell), her grandchildren, Courtenay and Caitlin Stewart, Richard and Christopher Boucquey, James Antonik and Jennifer Waters, Matthew, Michael and Mitchell Gallant, Scott and Kristin Draper, great-grandchildren Jimmy, Dominic, Dylan, Donovan and Gabriella. Visitation will be held at Monk Funeral Services, 6 Helen Street Bobcaygeon, Ontario (705-738-3222 or 866-393-0063) Thursday, August 22, 2013 from 1 to 2 pm, followed by a service and reception at the funeral home.
