Obituary of Donald McTaggart
Don McTaggart passed away at Ross Memorial Hospital on Friday, January 18th, 2013 at the age of 89. Beloved husband of Dorothy McTaggart and the late Grace McTaggart. Father of Ross (Dori) McTaggart, Markham; Bob (Lorraine) McTaggart, Pleasant Point; Andrew (Sonya) McTaggart, Markham; Margot (Kevin) Sadler, Antigonish, NS; and Andrea (Jonathan) Sadler-Kruk, Cold Spring NY. Grandfather of Doug McTaggart, Kyle McTaggart, Lauren McTaggart, Liam McTaggart, Ryleigh McTaggart, Sydney Roberts and Dawson Roberts. Brother of Bruce (Betty) McTaggart, Bobcaygeon; Lois (Arch) Harvey, Ottawa; and Nancy McTaggart-Clewes, Don Mills. He will be missed by his nieces and nephews. Don was a WWII Pilot, a Flying Officer of the Halifax Bomber. He was a piper for most of his life playing in several bands. He was also a pipe maker. Don designed and built a 1/10 scale model of the Halifax Bomber which he flew during World War II. It was a five year labour of love resulting in a flying model airplane with a wingspan of 10 feet. This model now resides in the National Air Force Museum in Trenton, ON.
