Obituary of Paul Denis Oliver

Oliver, Paul Denis, P.Eng. Passed away on September 22, 2012, he is survived by his loving wife Marion (McTaggart) Oliver, son Mark, daughter Eden, son-in-law Scott Fairley, and adored granddaughter Miranda Fairley. Dear brother of the late Stephen, brother-in-law of Marion and Valerie, and uncle of Stephen, Philip, Peter and Susan. Paul was born and lived most of his life in Toronto until moving to Bobcaygeon in 1994. Graduated from Upper Canada College '50, University of Toronto, B.Sc. Chemical Engineering 5T4, and York University, MBA, 1977. Paul was an avid reader and sailor, and he loved racquet sports, curling and bridge. Paul's dry wit and  sportsmanship made it a pleasure to play with him. Despite the impact of a serious stroke prior to retiring from his business, he pursued and enjoyed life with great courage and an unfailing sense of humour.  A fine gentleman and the soul mate of Marion, Paul was well loved by his family and many friends, and will be deeply missed.  Family and friends will be received at MONK FUNERAL HOME, 6 Helen Street, Bobcaygeon on Friday, September 29, 2012, from 2-4 p.m., and on Saturday, September 29th at Christ Church Anglican, 43 Sherwood Street, Bobcaygeon, from 1-2 p.m. Funeral service will be held at Christ Church Anglican on Saturday at 2 p.m. If desired, memorial donations to the March of Dimes Stroke Recovery Programs would be appreciated.  Messages of condolence, donations, photos and stories may be shared at www.monkfuneralhome.com
