Obituary of Gwendolyn Alden

ALDEN, Gwendolyn “ Gwen” (nee Wright)
Passed away on January 2nd at Extendicare Peterborough.  Gwen Alden of Lakefield ,formerly of Toronto, in her 86th year.   Beloved wife and dear friend of John Alden.  Cherished mother of Denise Alden (Rob) and Nicole Mawaraj (Sean).  Grandma will be missed by Ashley and Jacob and great-grandson Joshua and Theo.  Survived by brother Kenneth, nieces Joyce (Rich), Carolyn (Jesse), Wanda (Clarence) and nephew Dennis (Diana). Predeceased by parents Mildred and George Wright, son John Jr. (Irene) and bothers Douglas, Cliff, Don, Kaye, sister Helen and nephew Jerry.    A funeral service will be held at THE HENDREN FUNERAL HOMES, LAKEFIELD CHAPEL, 66 Queen Street Lakefield, on Sunday January 6th 2019 at 1:00PM with a visitation to commence one-hour prior.  A reception will follow the service in the Heritage Room of the funeral home.   A private family interment will take place in spring 2019.   As expressions of sympathy, memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Society.  Relatives and friends may send condolences or make donations by contacting www.hendrenfuneralhome.com or by calling (705) 652-3355.
