John had an unending dedication to the Legion...I started to think about all the things he did for us all here...he was busy every day doing something...weather it was planning a tournament of some kind or a dance, making food for a dance, organizing the BBQ, setting up and BBQing on Saturdays or advertising, the list goes on and on...he even convinced a non dart player “Me” to play zone darts with him and as we all know he was very passionate about darts. He never sat still and rarely asked for help…he would just go, go, go.
I don’t know how many of you have ever heard the song “Who’s gonna to fill their shoes” by George Jones but it is a song about the passing of all the great musical entertainers and who is ever going to replace them…the answer is NO ONE. They are irreplaceable.
I know there are some wonderful volunteers here at Branch 381 and we have all tried to step up and get things done during Johns last hard fought battle. He has left some very big shoes to fill and Who’s gonna fill his shoes? The answer is NO ONE...John is irreplaceable.
John will be missed by so many and for so many reasons.
We love you John, Rest in Peace my comrade, my friend it has certainly been an honour to know you

As children we played in the backwoods where the old Mill stood, and we used to slide down the big hill on the road in the winter and play hockey on Grandma's pond. Fond memories never to be forgotten. It's crazy how life gets busy and people drift. I'm so happy that you've been a creator and found love. Thank you to John for being a wonderful person. Laughing. I'm so happy that his family has been able to share this life journey with him. Meegwich...

RIP John you fought hard and now you rest. You will be missed by so many people who got to know you through the Legion. I met you playing darts. You always had a smile and wonderful laugh. You were a doer and you never gave up working and living your life with zest. Hugs and prayers to your family you left way too young.
