Obituary of James "Jim" Bell
BELL: James Frederick “Jim”
1958-2016
Passed away suddenly at his Lakefield residence on his birthday, Saturday May 21st 2016 at the age of 58. Jim was the co-owner of Ellie’s Taste of Texas, and will be remembered by many as the caterer at Smithavens Brewing Company on Fridays and Saturdays, and at many festivals throughout the area. He was also an owner/operator in the trucking industry for many years. Jim loved to socialize over a beer and good conversation – often passionately about current affairs, history, politics or music. He was very generous and compassionate, often doing everything he could to help. Happily married to Morri Ellie for 19 years. Their marriage can be summed up using their most memorable remark of affection, “I Don’t Know Anything…..Except I Know I Love You.” Loving brother of Judy Paterson (Bob) of Ajax, Polly Collins (Marc) of Barrie and Eddy Bell of Toronto. Always remembered by his wonderful nieces Teegan Collins and Emily Paterson of Canada, and his wonderful nieces and nephews of Texas. Also loved by the Cady and Myler families in Texas. Predeceased by his parents, Clarence and Phyllis. A Celebration of Jim’s Life will be held on June 26th, 2:00 p.m. at Smithavens Brewing Company (687 Rye Street in Peterborough) Cremation has taken place. As expressions of sympathy, memorial donations may be made to Lakefield Animal Welfare Society (L.A.W.S.) or the Lakefield Food Bank. Friends may send condolences or make donations by contacting THE HENDREN FUNERAL HOMES, LAKEFIELD CHAPEL at www.hendrenfuneralhome.com or by calling 705-652-3355.
