WIERDSMA: Siebe Passed away at the P.R.H.C. on Friday October 30, 2015. Siebe Wierdsma of Lakefield in his 89th year. Siebe was born on March 26, 1927 in Lemmer, Friesland, Netherlands and immigrated to Canada in 1955 with his wife and two sons. Loved and missed by his wife Elisabeth (nee Speelman), and by his children Bob (Dorothy), Sim (Joanna), Anita Locke (Dail Young) and Brenda Ibey (Clayton). Loving grandfather of Jason, Sara, Naomi, Lindsey, Jessica, Alex, Eric, Nick and great grandfather of Talan, Aiden, Brycen, Norah, Ada, Nathan, Mackenzie and Rebekah. Survived by his brother Hendrik (Sylvia) and sisters Nellie (Bernard Kloosterman), Mien (Folkert Harlaar), Peta Frantsz-Wierdsma, Atje (Eddie Van Zeben) and sisters-in-law Ali and Maartje “Mary” Wierdsma. Predeceased by his parents Bouwe Wierdsma and Attje (Sybesma), brothers Gerrit (Dicky), Andries “Andy”, Bouwe (Pia), Brand and sisters Geertje and Liesbeth. A funeral service will be held at the Cephas Christian Reformed Church, 220 Goodfellow Road, Peterborough on Tuesday November 3, 2015 at 11:00 AM. Visitation one hour prior to the service. A reception will follow in the fellowship hall of the church. A private family interment will be held at Hillside Cemetery, Lakefield. Memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society as expressions of sympathy.
