Obituary of Sherman Everett Stockdale

STOCKDALE: Sherman Everett Sherman passed away peacefully and entered into the arms of Jesus, with his family by his side on Tuesday August 4, 2015 at Extendicare, Lakefield. Sherman Stockdale of Lakefield in his 94th year. Loving husband of the late Dorothy Mae Corby (1995). Sadly missed by his children Gladys Cass (Paul) of Ennismore, Lawrence (Rhonda) of Peterborough and Donald (Pat) of Buckhorn. Survived by his sister-in-law Lorene Stockdale of Lakehurst. Grandpa is remembered by 12 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren. Also survived by several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents Emma Jane Harrison and William "Willy" John Stockdale, sons Bill, Eugene, Doug and Elwood, daughter Nancy, sisters Gladys and Leona and brothers Clarence, George, Stuart and Eldon. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at THE HENDREN FUNERAL HOMES, LAKEFIELD CHAPEL on Saturday August 8, 2015 at 11:00 AM. Visitation one hour prior to the service. A reception will follow in the Heritage Room of the Funeral Home. Memorial donations may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or the Canadian Cancer Society as expressions of sympathy.
